Lake Tahoe...

An early morning on Lake Tahoe

We arrived at 3:00am on Friday night and went boating & skiing at 7am saturday. painful -- but well worth it

A hot-air balooner takes advantage of a great morning / day

The Tahoe beachs -- Tahoe is the 2nd largest lake in the US

and the second largest alpine lake in the world (notice the mountain ranges surrounding the 21 mile lake)

The water in Tahoe is so blue that you can see at an average depth of 100 feet below the surface

We spent the weekend living in this fortress (located in Emerald Bay)

Looking outwards from Emerald Bay

Jarrod fights 3 hours of sleep and a chilly early morning

With no wetsuit -- and no water skiing talent -- Jarrod contemplates why he is jumping into 65 degree water at 7am

For moments like these.... which occurred far too frequently on Saturday

But come Sunday, Jarrod was ready to conquer to the wakeboard

And he did....

Even one-handed!

Jon, somewhat more comfortable on the wakeboard, rides with the mountains at back

Jon isnt quite at Jarrod's level -- but his effort was commendable

Jon jumping the wake

And a huge jump for Jon

Preparing for some early morning skiing while the lake was still calm and my body exhausted

An early morning slalom run

After some skiing, I decided to wakeboard for a couple of runs...

After an ill-fated jump, that ended with this nasty face-first fall. And that was my last wakeboard run of the weekend.

So back to skiing

After watching the three of us take some ugly falls, Theresa wonders why she is attempting to wakeboard?

And, having never done it before, she quickly surpassed Jarrod's skill-level
